Lilly's New House

This Time Of Year....

Lilly spent last Saturday decorating a gingerbread house while Jacob went to a friend's house. She used the rule: a piece for the house, a piece for me....

These were taken at our church last Friday. We decorated the Town of Bethlehem, and we played the part of the governor's mansion. Lilly was the princess, Ryan and I were servants, and Jacob was the Governor -a part he played well! They had a lot of fun trading for things at the shops and having people bow to them and give them tax money.

Jacob's Song

This is one of the songs that Jacob learned for his school Christmas Program. If you're wondering why Lilly is covering her face the whole time, it's because I asked her to wash her face before I took her picture. I guess that she decided if I couldn't see it, it was considered clean.

Being kids...

Lilly decorating the tree...
And absolute proof that every now and then we do manage to get Lilly's hair combed and in a hair clip. However, most days it looks more like it has been hit by a light socket.

Future Employees?

This morning we took the kids to the building clinic at Home Depot. They each got to build a wagon. They did a great job-only one thumb got smashed (Ryan's).

Catching up...

Well, since I managed to forget my camera on Thanksgiving Day as well as at Jacob's Christmas program, ( I know, I know) I thought I would bring it with us to the Children's Museum today, and make sure I finally took some pictures. I'm glad that I did too. Jacob, as always, had creativity oozing out of his pores. He made this rocket from scraps he found in the recycling bin. The museum asked if they could take his picture for their Facebook page. So for those of you who Facebook, it should be on The Climbing Tree Children's Museum page in a couple of days. This TOTALLY made his day. When we came home he told Ryan that he was going to be famous. Nice to know it didn't go straight to his
head ....

Lilly had a great time as well. She painted, tried on the outfits and even gave us a puppet show. I like this picture. She was in the middle of saying "Blue's Clues".

Gourmet Chefs

Maybe I'm just being lazy, but we bought the kids these chef outfits and sent them off to make us dinner. We sat back and watched as Jacob read the directions and made Hamburger Helper. Lilly worked on making some pudding for dessert.
It was a lot of fun watching them, and they were very proud of the dinner they made together. Now, if I can just get Bubba to do the dishes.....

Time to Party...

Lilly and Jake have been getting in touch with their festive side. If you look in the background you can see the "Christmas Tree" they made. The couch pillows became beautifully adorned Christmas presents.
The kids also went to a party on Friday night. They rode a horse named Rosie. Lilly had a great time. A sly goat snuck up behind her and nibbled on her bangs. Then he gave her a great big kiss.

And here is Lilly riding Rosie.

A friendship has been made!

We had a visit from Grandpa and Grandma last weekend. We had to show them how much fun it is to pile up the leaves in the park and then splash around in them.
After getting all the leaf piles scattered back out, Jacob showed off his stuff on the BMX track.
Lilly took us all down to the park with a loaf of bread to feed the ducks (mostly geese but we tried to feed the ducks.)

Precious...

Lilly served Grandpa up some delicious lemons with ketchup, and they worked hard putting all of her stuffed animals to sleep.

Some day I know she'll look back at this, and see just how much her Grandpa loves her!

Oh, Bubba...

Lilly's Date With Daddy...

Ryan and my mom took turns watching Lilly while I was taking a class this week (Thank you!!). Apparently, they has a blast ...Lilly keeps asking me when I'm going back! These are pictures from Lilly's day with her dad. They went fishing and for a gourmet lunch at McDonalds.

Flour and Cinnamon and Sugar, Oh My...

This morning Jake, Lilly and I made dino donuts. After an hour of flour, sugar, and all that jazz, we had breakfast! Lilly said, "Mmmm, these are good. Where did you buy them from?"

Lilly's New Wheels...

Well, this is Lilly's latest ride. She picked it up for a cool 5 bucks at a yard sale today. Now she's working on wearing out the tires. She tried very hard to drive it to Colorado West to pick up Jacob from school. She was headed down the road to get him, with me trying to detain her. I'm not sure where she was planning on putting him..there's not a lot of room in the trunk.

BARBIE DOLL TALK SHOW...

An afternoon of playing....

Lilly is starting a barbie collection. She even managed to get Jacob to play with her. They decided to have a pool party, with several barbies sunning on wash rags underneath Jacob's reading lamp. It did get a bit windy though (darn ceiling fan).

HI-HO, HI-HO, IT'S OFF TO SCHOOL I GO. . .

It's very hard to believe that today is the first day of first grade. On Tuesday night, we went down and met my new teacher, Mrs. Wolfe. She is very upbeat and has a busy year planned for us. I am so excited to go that I had a hard time falling asleep last night. Well, I better get going. Its going to be a great first day.

Camping Trip

This is the last weekend before Jacob starts 1st Grade, so we decided to have a camp out in the back yard. It was really fun; we had s'mores, played games and read stories, and Jacob and Lilly were "camper dancers". I hope you enjoy watching the show!

Our Day...

Whew! We had a busy day. First, we built moats and swimming pools in the sand in Ridgway. Then we went to the bowling alley with some friends. Lilly gave the owner a run for his money as he had to keep fetching her ball for her in the middle of the lane where it stalled. This evening we went to the BMX track. This is fast becoming Jacob's new hobby. He had his first race tonight and he even got a medal. Lilly is probably the world's smallest BMXer. She proudly rode her tricycle (with lots and lots of help) up and down the hills. Well, we are all worn out now...or at least I am. We love you, Ryan. Have a safe trip home.

Sorry it has been so long....

But, boy have we been busy! We have had friends over almost every single day. But tonight we made an apple pie together from some apples we picked at the park. Two baths, two loads of dishes, one load of laundry and one exhausted daddy later, and we have ourselves a pie! So come on over and have a piece!

A BIRTHDAY FIT FOR A PRINCESS...

Our day started out with a very excited 3 year old. We went to the park with Nana and Grandpa. We had some hamburgers and princess cake. Thank you everyone for making Lilly's birthday so much fun. She loves her new dresses, legos, and her new horse, Belle. She loves them so much that she doesn't want to go to sleep yet. She even wanted to wear new new wedding dress to bed. You guys are all so wonderful. We are thankful to have each and every one of you in Lilly's life. Thank you all!

Our House

Ryan and I have spent a lot of time working outside this summer. My mom and I planted this flower garden a while back. This picture really doesn't show how pretty it really is though. We (mostly Ryan and my dad) finished our deck. They did a great job-it's so nice to have shade in our back yard. It's so beautiful.

The flowers are blooming in the front as well. My day lily is my favorite.

A Prom Date Picture...

I went to check on Lilly about an hour after she went to sleep and I found her fast asleep on her potty chair. I had to take a quick picture before tucking her back into bed. Sorry sweetie. I will take this picture down before you're old enough to do it yourself. Mommy loves you.

Happy Birthday, Jacob....

THE BIRTHDAY BOY TURNS SEVEN...

We had a pretty relaxed day. Nana and Grandpa came over. We had some Bionicle cake and grilled hot dogs. Then after tearing Jacob away from his Lego's for a bit we went bowling. Jacob won. Big time. Then it was back home for more Lego building. Now he's relaxing again after building every single set he got today (4)! It was a good day, but we still can't believe he's 7!!!
