Hip, Hip Hippopotamus

Jacob and Lilly make quite a duo. Here's another song he has been teaching Lilly:

In the beginning God made the seas, and the forests filled with trees

He made the mountains up so high, on the top he placed the sky

God's fingerprints are everywhere, just to show how much he cares

We can sing and say well done, but some things he just made for fun

Hip, hip, hippopotamus, hip hip hip He made us

Hip, hip, hip hippopotamus, Hip, hip Hooray He made us...

I'm so Glad That God Made Me..

Jacob and Lilly were in Jacob's room for a while this morning. When they came out, they started singing a song that Jacob learned at school. These are the words:

If I were a butterfly I'd thank you Lord for giving me wings, and if I were a Robin in a tree, I'd thank you Lord that I could sing, and if I were a fish in the sea, I'd wiggle my tail and giggle with glee, but I just thank you Father for making me, me. For you gave me a heart, and you gave me a smile, you gave me Jesus and you made me your child. If I were a kangaroo, you know I would hop right up to you, and if I were a crocodile I'd thank you Lord for my big smile, and if I were a fuzzy, wuzzy bear I'd thank you Lord for my fuzzy, wuzzy hair, and I just thank you Father for making me, me. For you gave me a heart, and you gave me a smile, you gave me Jesus, and you made me your child. So I just thank you Father for making me, me.

They can be so cute. The words to the song are very simple, but these kids are always reminding me of what's really important.

LAST SNOW????

26th of March. Last week temps in the 70's. This week SNOW for the kids to enjoy. This may be the last of the wonderful white stuff for this year. Jacob and Lillian were able to get out and enjoy it!!! Hopefully, we'll have to wait till next year to do it again.

You're Never Gonna Believe It....

This is the face of a dog that, as most of you know, is quite a terror at times. He knocks over anyone that walks through the door, he is an incredible escape artist, and we have spent many hours around town trying to get him home. It's best if he sleep near the window at night, and he's has torn up a ridiculous amount of children's toys...yet.....

Tonight Bubba tied for First Place at doggie obedience school. After a final test, he brought home a Second Place ribbon. He was also named "most improved" . Here he is in his cap and gown (the irony in it is that he tried to bite me when I put it on him).

Congratulations Bubba! We're all very proud of you. Maybe now you can stop drinking out of the toilet....

A Work In Progress...

We are all working on finishing a doll house kit that Lilly got for Christmas ( I know, I know..it's March already..). But after an honest effort, we put it back in the box and moved on to sweeter matters....MAKING COOKIES!!!

Lilly proudly holds up a spoon of the cookie dough she has been stirring. Two seconds later, it was in her mouth. Now we are down to 11 cookies instead of 12....

Lilly observes Jacob's cookie making skills, as she eats the chocolate chips. Now we're down about 1/8 cup of chocolate chips...stir faster Jacob...

The idea for these cookies came from a series of Franklin books that Jacob has been reading about at school. At our trip to the library, Lilly and I got Jacob this book. At the end of it, there was a cookie recipe that we made together. Jacob got very into it, as you can probably see from the flour on his face!
